Thursday, November 14

Tacoma Resident Free Day at Point Defiance. A special event for Tacoma residents: Free admission to the Zoo today! Bring proof of residency. 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium, Tacoma. 

Teen Night at Schack. Teen night is back! This is a perfect way for older kids to busy themselves with something meaningful during the evening. This event will include up to four hands-on art projects, each led by a professional teaching artist from the community. 6 to 8 p.m. Schack Center for the Arts, Everett. 

 

Friday, November 15

Free Friday Night at the Museum. Head to the Imagine Children’s Museum in Everett for free play in a life-size airplane, at the farm, in the art studio, or outside on the rooftop park. 5:30 to 9 p.m. Imagine Children’s Museum, Everett. 

Planetarium Show: Wonders of the Universe. Watch an educational presentation in a cool, dome-shaped theater where the night sky is reproduced. Each hour from 6 p.m. on, take in a show and learn about the wonders of the universe from a knowledgeable guide. Pre-register. Shows are at 6, 7, and 8 p.m. Bellevue College, Bellevue. 

Alebrijes Inspired Art Workshop. Learn how to create these beautiful, brightly colored sculptures that are so very present in Mexican folklore. All supplies are provided, so please register in advance. 4 to 5 p.m., Burien Library, Burien. 

Family Game Night. This one’s for the big kids! Teens can invite family and friends for a fun night of games and conversation at the local community center. 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Rainier Community Center, Seattle. 

 

Saturday, November 16

Discovery Days. Interested in marine science? Head on down to MaST to tour the flow-through seawater tanks and displays of more than 250 marine species native to the Puget Sound. 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Marine Science and Technology Center, Des Moines.  

Free Family Flick. Come enjoy a free movie on the big screen with the whole family! This month’s pick: The Dark Crystal. 10 a.m. to noon. The Grand Cinema, Tacoma. 

 

Sunday, November 17

Sensory Friendly Time at Imagine Children's Museum. Children with autism spectrum or sensory differences are invited with their families to enjoy the museum in the morning, free of charge. 9 to 11 a.m. Imagine Children’s Museum, Everett. 

Sunday Public Sail. Each Sunday, the Center for Wooden Boats offers free 45-minute rides on Lake Union. Set sail on one of the beautiful, classic boats. Sign up for a slot in person, several trips throughout the day. Space is limited. 10 a.m to 4 p.m. The Center for Wooden Boats, South Lake Union. 

Fremont Sunday Market. Stroll this fun, year-round, European-style street market. Food trucks, hand crafts, vintage and one-of-a-kind gifts, local produce and more. 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Evanston Avenue (Fremont), Seattle.
