Magic Monday Held on the second Monday of the month, each show features the Pacific Northwest's finest magicians. 7 p.m. Third Place Books, Ravenna.

Music Under the Stars Hear live classical music played by a talented student orchestra, followed by a live broadcast of a Seattle Symphony concert during the month of July. 7:30 p.m. Delridge Playfield, West Seattle, July 11 Volunteer Park, Capitol Hill, and July 13 at Columbia Park and Freeway Park, Downtown Seattle.

 

Tuesday, July 10

Karaoke in the Park Head to Cromwell Park each Tuesday in July and sing your heart out. 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Cromwell Park, Shoreline.

 

Wednesday, July 11

Too Much Noise! Meowing & Growling Musical Tales Join The Whitman Story Sampler as they blend music, movement and participation with tales from around the world. 10:15 to 11 a.m. Shoreline Library, Shoreline.

Backyard Waterpark Enjoy mini-waterpark activities and games. Bring a swimsuit, towel, and sunscreen. 1 to 3 p.m. Ravenna-Eckstein Community Center, Ravenna.

Summer at SAM Kickoff Hear live music from several performers, create art, and enjoy food trucks—the first in a weekly summer series. 6 to 8 p.m. Olympic Sculpture Park, Belltown.

Art Classes in the Park Join Gage Academy of Art each week for free lessons with a variety of media including watercolors, clay, cartoons and more. 4 to 6 p.m. Occidental Square, Pioneer Square.

 

Friday, July 13

Redmond Derby Days Arts festival, carnival, food, entertainment, 5K Derby Dash (6:30 p.m. July 13, $) diaper derby (noon to 2 p.m. July 14) kids parade (10 a.m. July 14) grand parade (11 a.m. July 14), fireworks (10 p.m. July 14). 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. July 13, 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. July 14. Ballard SeafoodFest Enjoy live music, arts and crafts, a kids deck (July 14-15) with special activities and entertainment featuring inflatables, face painting, Mr. Ryan’s Pirate Yoga (1 p.m. July 15) and of course seafood. 5 to 11 p.m. July 13, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. July 14, and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. July 15. Saturday, July 14

Seattle Outdoor Theater Festival Enjoy a full weekend of live, outdoor theater from Shakespeare to improvisation including Pinocchio (5 p.m. July 15). See the full schedule here. July 14-15. Volunteer Park, Capitol Hill.

Wedgwood Art Festival Annual festival featuring local fine arts and crafts vendors, live music and entertainment, food trucks and kids activities. 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 14-15. Our Lady of the Lake Parish and School, Wedgewood.

Free Drop-In Skateboarding Lessons Drop in skateboarding lessons for kids ages 12 and younger. Spots are filled on a first-come-first-served basis. Held on select Saturdays at various locations throughout the summer. 10 a.m. to noon. Ballard Commons Park, Ballard, and Virgil Flaim Park, Lake City.

Seafair Milk Carton Derby See groups compete with boats made of milk cartons. Over 100 entries of different shapes and designs. 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Green Lake Aqua Theater, Green Lake.

Maple Valley Kids' Festival Kids can enjoy live music and comedy shows, face painting, crafts, a candy cannon, model airplanes, inflatables, interactive exhibits and more. 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Lake Wilderness Park, Maple Valley.

Wallingford Family Parade: Be French For A Day This annual parade falls on Bastille Day this year. It begins at the corner of Interlake Avenue and North 45th Street, runs east along 45th Street and ends at Bagley Avenue North. 11 a.m. Wallingford.

 

Sunday, July 15

Sunday Public Sail Each Sunday, the Center for Wooden Boats offers free 45-minute rides on Lake Union. Set sail on one of the classic boats. Sign up for a slot in person, several trips throughout the day. Space is limited. Sign up begins at 10 a.m. Center for Wooden Boats, Lake Union. 

Bicycle Sundays The four-mile stretch of Lake Washington Boulevard between Mount Baker Beach and Seward Park is closed to motorized traffic several Sundays through September. Enjoy biking, jogging or strolling along the water. 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Lake Washington Boulevard South, Mount Baker.
