April 6 is National Start! Walking Day

On Wednesday, April 6, people across the nation will incorporate 30 minutes of walking into their day for National Start! Walking Day, an awareness event put on by the American Heart Association. Walking is the single most effective form of exercise to achieve heart health.

Consider walking to and from school with your kids on Wednesday, or fitting a walk into your after-school routine. As well, families are welcome to join Mayor Mike McGinn and King County Executive Dow Constantine at City Hall at noon on Wednedsay for a short rally, followed by a 30 minute springtime walk through the International District.
