April Pools Day: Free swimming and water safety talks
Plan on spending time around water this summer? Brush up on lifesaving water safety tips at these free family swims.
Time to dig out those swimsuits. Swimming, fishing and boating season will be here before we know it. To help your family prepare for a fun and safe summer, more than 40 facilities across Washington state are hosting April Pools Day – an event to brush up on water safety tips and swim for free.
Safety topics include:
- preventing open water drowning
- Life jacket use
- Cold water awareness
- Basic water rescue for children
April Pool’s Day events are held at various times and locations, April 13-20. Seattle Parks & Recreation has the schedule.
