Frustrated with driving all over town and shopping endless websites to gather supplies for children’s parties, three Magnolia moms created Capes and Castles Parties. “We wanted to simplify the process,” says co-founder Abby Larner.

Launched in October 2015, Capes and Castles Parties creates themed parties for children of all ages. They do everything from décor to activities and party favors, delivered directly to you — including setup and cleanup.

Between them, Larner, Christa Bennett and Molly Cunningham have a total of seven kids under the age of 6; these moms know the frustration of trying to throw an entertaining party while still having enough energy to have a good time. With their in-depth kid know-ledge, the trio knows what makes a good birthday bash.

“We’re three moms, so we know what kids love,” says Bennett. “We felt there was a niche for creating unique children’s parties that are fun for the whole family and take some of the stress off parents.” The party service is perfect for hosts who love to celebrate in their home, but dislike the setup and cleanup aspects of the party. They currently serve the greater Seattle region, but are open to locations farther afield.

Capes and Castles Parties offers a pre-planned theme party for $350. The service provides décor, one or two activities, a craft, and party favors for up to 10 kids and two hours of party time. It’s $10 for each additional child. Cake is provided for an additional fee, and tables and chairs are also available if needed.

Current party themes include Spa, Fairy, Princess, Pirates, Lego, Football, Spy and Superheroes; custom themes are available on a sliding scale.
