Celebrate LGBTQ families at an all-ages dance party Saturday in Seattle

Rainbow Remix will be a festive, music and art-centered event in Seattle on Saturday, celebrating LGBTQ families while benefiting the Gender Family Alliance and Rainbow Book Fund. There also will be a raffle, photo booth, food and more.

Attendees will also get to see art by Kaya Nieves, James Meyers, Fennec Nightingale and Lucia Santos, and listen to music from Cat Valley, DJ Christian Science and WIGS. There will also be a period-product collection benefiting One Million Tampons, a campaign to provide tampons for homeless women in Seattle.

Last year’s event raised more than $1,000 for the Rainbow Book Fund, supporting Seattle Public Schools’ K-5 Gender Book Kit project. The kits are supplemental educational materials on gender, gender roles, gender expression and gender identity that are age-appropriate and in alignment with state health-education standards.

The Gender Family Alliance offers one-on-one support for parents and caregivers of transgender, non-binary and gender-creative children age 2-18. GFA is based in Seattle, but hopes to eventually support families everywhere.
