SEEDArts hosts their Arts Gumbo 2015 during October and November, a celebration of Native American culture focused on food, stories, music and dance. Columbia City's Rainier Valley Cultural Center hosts the series, which begins on October 8 with an exploration of Coast Salish Canoe Tribes. November's events focus on Plains cultures.
Each Arts Gumbo begins on a Thursday evening with an Arts Gumbo Book Chat in partnership with Columbia Branch Library. A tribal leader will lead the free discussions, all which begin at 6:30 pm.
The next day, Arts Gumbo Films will present movies that highlight the culture att 7 pm at the Rainier Valley Cultural Center for $5 a ticket.
