The Harlem Globetrotters (celebrating their 90th anniversary) come to town this weekend!


Edible City Family Day with Festál Sat Feb 18. 10-5. MOHAI.

It’s a delicious day at the MOHAI. Join cultural groups from around Puget Sound and watch cooking demonstrations, take part in hands-on crafts, watch dance performances and more. Event included with admission. $19.95, $15.95 seniors, $13.95 military and students, free ages 14 and younger accompanying an adult chaperone (max. 5 youth per adult). 

President’s Day Weekend Run Sat Feb 18 9:45 a.m. Magnuson Park

Grab the family and get outside for the Magnuson Series fun run this weekend at Magnuson Park. The events include a 5K, 10K, 15K and Kids Dash. Kids Dash at 9:45 a.m., 5K, 10K and 15K at 10 a.m. $19 to $29, $3 Kids Dash, $10 more day of event.

The Right to Dream Sat Feb 18 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. Renton History Museum

Head to the Renton History Museum this Sat for The Right to Dream, a presentation recreating a student's coming of age as an African American in Mississippi during the 1950's and 1960's. This amazing program highlights the issues of civil rights and how the fight against prejudice has shaped our history. Recommended for 6th grade and older and the event is included with admission. $5, $2 kids.

I Hate Children Children’s Show Sat Feb 18 1 & 3 p.m./Sun Feb 19 1 p.m. Hale’s Palladium

Despite the title, kids will love this event. Head to Hale’s Palladium this weekend for a wickedly funny award-winning comedy and magic show for kids and their families. Great for ages 8 and older. Show runs through Feb. 26. $25, $18 kids, VIP tickets available.

Harlem Globetrotters Sat Feb 18 2 & 7 p.m. KeyArena

This event is a winner for all ages. Join the world-famous basketball team, the Harlem Globetrotters for an event full of amazing ball-handling skills, comedy routines and awesome basketball. Two shows on Saturday – 2 and 7 p.m. $25.50 to $128.50.  (Find out about their other games this weekend in Kent and Everett.) 

Elephant and Piggie’s ‘We Are in a Play!’ Sat Feb 18/Sun Feb 19 1 & 3 p.m. SecondStory Rep

An elephant named Gerald, a pig named Piggie and three singing Squirrels.  Come watch this delightful show about friendship and having fun. Show runs weekends thru March 5. $10, $5 kids ages 1 to 3 on Sundays.
