Dive-In Movie: Finding Dory Sat Jan 14. 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. Stroum Jewish Community Center.  FREE.

Don your swimsuit and splash like a fish as you watch Finding Dory from the pool. BYO floatie or borrow one there. Poolside popcorn provided. (Mercer Island)


Make A Pinecone Bird Feeder Sat Jan 14 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Swansons Nursery

Come learn all about birds in the Northwest, then make a tasty snack for them to take home and hang in your own yard. Parental Allergy Notice: This workshop uses peanut butter. There are alternate materials for those allergic, however complete separation during the craft cannot be guaranteed. $5 materials fee per child.  


A Blizzard of Tales & Tunes! Sat Jan 14 10:30-11:15 a.m. Shoreline Library. FREE

Local award-wining singer/songwriter Eric Ode has whipped up a storm of super winter stories and songs for this fun morning concert. Ages 3 and older and their caregivers will love this interactive event full of hand motions, finger plays and props. Come ready to sing and dance along. 


Free Family Weekend Walks Sat Jan 14 1-2:30 p.m. Washington Park Arboretum Graham Visitors Center. FREE.

Bundle up and head out for a fun 90-min guided nature walk for the whole family. You’ll learn about evergreen trees through games and hands-on activities geared toward kids and their caregivers. Meet in the parking lot of the Graham Visitors Center.


Second Saturday Spectacular: Reptile Man Sat Jan 14 3-4 p.m. University Heights Center. FREE

Learn about amazing creatures, then meet a few, like the American alligator, a cobra, a rattlesnake and large Burmese python, in an informative and fun-for-all-ages 45-minute show with local celebrity, Reptile Man. Donations welcomed.


Model Railroad Show Sat - Mon Jan 14-16. 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Pacific Science Center

All aboard for the 43rd year of this fantastic weekend show at the Pacific Science Center.  Come enjoy three days of hands-on activities, presentations, displays, build-your-own railroad layouts and more. You can even take a ride on a kid’s-sized Iron Horse Railway train. Event is included with admission. $19.75, $17.75 seniors, $14.75 ages 6 to 15, $11.75 ages 3 to 5, free ages 2 and younger. Additional fee for IMAX films.
