Mud and Chocolate Bite Size Sat July 15, 8 a.m. Robinswood Park
Now here’s a way to incentivize. Lace up the tennis shoes and try out this fun, three-mile trail run or half-mile kids’ dash, then get chocolate at the end of the run! 8:40 a.m. kids’ dash, 9 a.m. 3-mile. $32, $10 kids' dash.

Bird Focus: The Fledglings Sat July 15, 8-10 a.m. Seward Park Audubon Center
Learn about fledglings this Saturday with naturalist Ed Dominguez. He’ll talk about how fledglings are leaving the nest, how they learn to forage for food and the predator danger they face. Then take a walk thru Seward Park and see if you can spot any intrepid, young birds. Ages 10 and older. Pre-register. $5. 

All Day Game Day Sat July 15, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Skyway Library FREE
Leave the smartphones and tablets at home. The Skyway Library will be covering every table in every section of the library with board games, dice games and role playing games for kids, teens and adults! Plus, board game enthusiasts, and local gaming stores will be bringing their games, and teaching you how to play for free. And they’re air conditioned!

Seafair Indian Days Pow Wow Fri July 14, 4 p.m.-10 p.m. Sat July 15, 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Sun July 16, 10 a.m.-8 p.m.
Enjoy delicious food, lively music, native dance, and a grand community resource fair. Be sure to time your visit for one of the Grand entries, happening at regular intervals throughout the weekend. Free on July 14. $5, free ages 11 and younger July 15-16.

Adventure Playground Sun July 16, 1-4 p.m. Deane’s Children’s Park. FREE
Nestled in Deane’s Children’s Park on Mercer Island, Adventure Playground is a one of a kind play area that allows kids to create their own adventure using toolboxes, various building supplies, safety items and, most importantly, freedom to create. Staff is on hand to help, as needed. Ages 12 and older may play without a parent present if they have a signed permission slip. Open 1 to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Thursdays and Sundays, through Aug. (closed July 2, 4, and 9); Sundays only in Sept. (closed Sept. 3). Donations accepted. Closed-toe shoes required. Check out our review here.

Once Upon A Mattress Sun July 16, 2-4 p.m. Snoqualmie Falls Forest Theater
Running weekends thru Aug 13, this classic fairy tale might just have a surprising twist. Will the Princess feel the pea? You’ll have to come and see this fun musical to find out. 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturdays, Sundays 2 p.m. $20, $18 seniors, $10 ages 5 to 12, free ages 4 and younger.
