Great Blue Herons Sat Mar 10, 10 a.m.-noon Discovery Park Environmental Learning Center
BYO binoculars or borrow some here and join this fun walk through Discovery Park to look for Great Blue Herons. You’ll visit a large rookery, learn what makes them ‘Great’ and understand how people affect their survival. Great for kids 8 and older and caregivers. Kindiependent Kids Rock Series Sat Mar 10, 10:30-11:30 a.m. Mount Baker Community Club
Get ready to dance the morning away with popular, local Kindie band Harmonica Pocket at the Mount Baker Community Club. With musicians playing saxophone, ukulele, stand up bass, harmonica and hula hoop to original lyrics, the entire family will adore this event. $15.
Holi Festival of Colors Sat Mar. 10, 1-3 p.m. Phinney Neighborhood Assoc.
Holi is a traditional Hindu festival which celebrates spring, color and the triumph of good over evil. Join this family-friendly celebration for an afternoon of music, dance, storytelling, food AND a color fight with colored powders. Celebration will be occurring in the Phinney Center’s lower parking lot. Great for all ages. $10, free ages 5 and younger. (Each ticket includes two color packets, with the opportunity to buy more on site. Food will be available for purchase at food trucks.)

Enjoy live music and dancing from the countries of Albania, Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, Macedonia, Romania and Serbia. Greek and Croatian food available for purchase at this family-friendly event. $25, $15 students with ID, $10 ages 10 to 18, free ages 9 and younger.
Girls Try Hockey Sat Mar. 10, 5-6 p.m. Highland Ice Arena. FREE
Have a girl that is interested in hockey? Girls ages 4 to 14 can take a lesson this Saturday at Highland Ice Arena for free. No experience is required; just bring warm clothes, gloves, and a bike helmet. Hockey gear will be provided on site. Pre-registration required.
ArtVenture: Loud Letters Sun Mar 11, 1-3 p.m. Henry Art Gallery. FREE
Think about art in a new way this Sunday at the Henry Art Gallery. Through printmaking, explore the power of language and learn how artists have experimented with letters, text and word play. Create your own poem, mystery or phrase to take home. Please pre-register and then drop in anytime 1-3 p.m.
