Exploration for All: Autism Early Open Sat Nov 11, 8-10 a.m. Pacific Science Center. FREE

On the second Saturday of each month, all families affected by autism spectrum disorder can explore the Pacific Science Center before it is opened to the public. Experience exhibits with less noise and fewer crowds plus softened general lighting and visual stimulation on interactive exhibits wherever possible. Additional fee applicable for special exhibits.

 

Acro-Biographies: Flipping the Page Sat Nov 11, 7 p.m. Broadway  Performance Hall

Join Cirrus Circus on Capitol Hill for an amazing performance featuring original pieces on trapeze, aerial fabric and Chinese pole. Be amazed by the contortion acts, club juggling, unicycle and clowning too. $20, $12 ages 16 and younger. Show runs through Nov 18

 

Piper’s Creek Salmon Watching Sat Nov 11, 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Carkeek Park. FREE

The salmon are swimming! Come see hundreds of returning chum and coho as they make their way into Piper’s Creek at Carkeek Park throughout November and December. Salmon Stewards will be available on the weekends to talk about the salmon's life cycle, habitat, and the human influence on both.

 

Amazing Animals Sun Nov 12, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Burke Museum

Two excellent events in one! Head to the Burke Museum for Meet the Mammals and Bug Blast on Sunday. See, touch and learn about the museum's extraordinary collection of mammals and bugs. Meet live ponies, play animal-themed games and see a bug cooking demo (maybe taste some, too!) $10, $8 seniors, $7.50 students and youth, free ages 4 and younger.

 

Introduction to Lego Mindstorms Sun Nov 12, 1:30-3 p.m. Green Lake Branch SPL. FREE

Love Legos? Take it to a new level and work with the Error 404 Robotics Team at the Green Lake branch of the Seattle Public Library to build and program a robot using Lego Mindstorms, then try to beat an obstacle course with your creation! Great for ages 7 and up.

 

Campout Cinema: WALL-E Sun Nov 12, 6:30 p.m. MoPOP

Pull on the PJs, BYO blankets and cushions from home (no chairs) and watch WALL-E (rated G) on the massive Sky Church screen. Includes admission to the exhibit "Infinite Worlds of Science Fiction." $14, $11 members and ages 5 to 17.
