Create a homemade ‘dummy’ that is fun and creatively costumed, then send it skiing or snowboarding down the slopes of Suncadia's Prospector Golf Course. Prizes will be awarded for the best air, best name, best-dressed and best crash. Event requires pre-registration. Try your hand at the Glow Snow-‘Man’ Competition and build something prize-worthy. Glow materials will be provided to light up your creation! Or join in The Ultimate Snowball Fight!

 

Free Family Flick Sat, Feb 15 10 a.m. The Grand Cinema. FREE

The third Saturday of each month, The Grand Cinema welcomes guests of all ages to a family-friendly movie for free! Join us this Saturday for a showing of the classic movie, “Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory.” Doors open at 9:30 a.m. and movies start at 10:00 a.m. Seating is first-come, first-served. All children under age 14 must be accompanied by an adult. 

 

Petit Trolls Workshop Sat and Sun Feb 15 and 16 1-4:30 p.m. Fremont Powerhouse. FREE

Be a part of a quirky, fun parade of trolls in the Fremont Sunday Market on Feb. 23 in the spirit of Mardi Gras, but attend a workshop at Fremont Powerhouse this weekend to make your miniature float. Start with small toy rolling bases and turn yours into a shimmering, themed float using recycled materials, glue guns and your imagination.

 

Winter Fireside Storytime: River Otters Sat, Feb 15 Cedar River Watershed Education Center. FREE

Come to the Cedar River Watershed Education Center and listen to a naturalist read a story by the cozy fireplace about a wild animal or nature theme that represents the watershed. Then stay after to color a fun, animal picture to take home. ADA accessible, and all ages welcome.

 

Sound Off! Youth Band Competition Sat, Feb 15 Sky Church @ MoPOP $14, $10 ages 5 to 17, $5 TeenTix pass holders. 

MoPOP’s premier 21-and-under music showcase and competition supports the local music scene by giving artists of all backgrounds the opportunity to showcase original music on a large platform, connect with peers and industry professionals, and take the next step in their music careers. Come cheer on your favorites or discover a new group to love! The winning band from each semifinal will progress to finals on Saturday, March 7. View the schedule and lineup online.
