Okee Dokee Brothers Town Hall Family Concert
11 a.m.-noon Sat, March 16 
Westside School

Head to the Westside School this Saturday to hear popular duo Okee Dokee Brothers share from their new album, "Winterland." It’s a tribute to the season of coziness, family time and outdoor fun. Come sing along to their catchy folk tunes. Doors open at 10:30. $5, free for children 12 and younger.

Kirkland Shamrock Run
9 a.m. Saturday, March 16
Marina Park, Kirkland

Get out the green (clothing) and join a fun 5K run/walk, plus 1K kids dash at Marina Park in Kirkland to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. Dogs and strollers welcome. $41, $15 kids and dogs.

 

Emerald City Comic Con
10 a.m.-7 p.m. daily
Washington State Convention Center

The Emerald City Comic Con is a perfect event for this weekend of green. Head to this popular Pacific NW comic and pop-culture show and interact with comic content and guests. Don’t forget to explore Family HQ for workshops, brick building, stories and more. $30-$45.

 

Free Family Flick
10 a.m. Saturday, March 16
The Grand Cinema, Tacoma. FREE

Enjoy a classic from the ‘80s at this third-Saturday-of-each-month event. The "NeverEnding Story," a family-friendly movie, will be playing at The Grand Cinema for guests of all ages! Doors open at 9:30 a.m. and movies start at 10 a.m. Seating is first-come, first-served. All children under age 14 must be accompanied by an adult.

 

Irish Festival
noon-6 p.m. Sat/Sun, March 16/17
Seattle Center Armory. FREE

Everyone wants to be a little bit Irish this weekend, and you can be at the fun Irish Festival at the Seattle Center Armory. Come listen to Irish music, watch Irish dancing, delve into Irish genealogy, taste Irish food, do Irish arts and crafts, explore Irish cultural displays, try your hand at Irish contests and more.

 

Ballard Locks Tour
2-3 p.m. Sun, March 17
FREE

The Ballard Locks are a marvel in engineering. Join a free public scheduled walking tours and learn all about them!  Tours start at the Visitor Center and last about an hour.  Groups larger than 10 should contact the visitor center prior to arrival. Tours occur Thursday through Monday.
