UW Botanic Gardens


Family Nature Class: Falling Leaves
Sat, Nov 2 9:30-11:30 a.m.
Washington Park Arboretum

Calling all preschoolers and their caregivers! Get outside and explore the natural world at the UW Botanic Gardens. Learning stations will help children explore all five senses, practice fine motor skills, sensory investigation, creativity, and pre-math and literacy skills. Then join in an opening circle and hike where the group will play games, listen to a story and further explore the falling leaves theme. $19/ first child and caregiver. $9.50 for each additional child. Extra adults and siblings under 2 are free!


Dia de Muertos Festival
Sat/Sun, Nov 2/3
11 a.m.-6 p.m. Seattle Center Armory FREE

Learn about and experience the Mexican traditions of this day honoring departed loved ones at the Seattle Center Armory. Event includes a traditional altar, live performances, fun crafts, delicious food, displays and more.


"Seussical the Musical"

Seussical The Musical is brought to life on stage by Studio East this weekend.  This musical extravaganza by Tony Award-winning composers Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty includes beloved characters like Horton the Elephant, The Cat in the Hat, Gertrude McFuzz, and the Whos. As Horton struggles to protect the Whos from injustice while sheltering an abandoned egg, will the powers of friendship, loyalty, family, and community be able to triumph? Your fabulous Cat in the Hat MC guides you through this sensational smorgasbord of Seuss stories. Show runs through Sunday

Watch Japanese groups and organizations showcase their cultural traditions such as taiko drums, tea ceremony, music, dancing, crafts, games, martial arts and more during this incredible, free day at the Japanese Cultural & Community Center. Food will be available as well (cash only).


ArtVenture: Our Bodies of Water

Henry Art Gallery. FREE

Join artist Hernan Paganini in an immersive and creative exploration of life under water and all the universes hidden within it. Explore how you access and speak to nature within the communities in which you live. Discover which animals and plants live near your home or under the waters of Puget Sound. The Henry’s Education Studio is transformed into an underwater imaginarium where we will meet ourselves, each other, and the creatures and plants that share our environment through creative play and drawing.
