From pool time to school time, getting ready for the classroom involves more than just textbooks.  Summer is the perfect time to get your kids into the dentist for a check-up ahead of the new school year.  Healthy teeth don’t only mean a happier smile but it also means improved nutrition and overall well-being.  With a pain-free mouth kids can concentrate better in school and have a happier life.

The University of Washington Center for Pediatric Dentistry has extended the offer of FREE complete dental exams, x-rays, teeth cleaning and fluoride application for children through age 18 years.  There is no income qualification and no immigration questions are asked.  All children are welcome.  Parents simply call 206-543-5800 and ask for “Give Kids a Smile” to schedule an appointment.

The Center has on-site social work staff to help facilitate interpretation in 120 languages, as needed.  With 16 chairs, all for children, it is often easy to make an appointment with short notice, allowing families some flexibility.  Families are welcome to bring any child, and may bring multiple children at one time.

The program is sponsored by Bartell Drugs and Healthy Smiles Healthy Children: The Foundation of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, as a way to ensure children receive preventive dental care.

The Center for Pediatric Dentistry is located with free, easy parking, at Magnuson Park, 6222 NE 74th St., Seattle, WA  98115.  It is on METRO bus lines.  More information on the Center can be found at:  www.thecenterforpediatricdentistry.com. Space is limited.
