K-8 students can nominate a teacher that is or has been a positive influence for the 12th annual Ivar’s and Kidd Valley Teacher of the Year Award. A pair of selected teachers will be awarded $500 for classroom supplies and a plaque with the official title of either Ivar’s Teacher of the Year or Kidd Valley Teacher of the Year.

Kids that nominate the winning teachers will score an Ivar's Kids Meal or Kidd Valley Meal for every student in their classroom. Both classes will also earn free admission tickets to Pacific Science Center.

The 2014 Ivar’s and Kidd Valley Teacher of the Year winners were James Van Stralen of Bellevue’s Chinook Middle School and Liliya Petrovskaya of Tacoma’s Manitou Park Elementary.

To nominate a teacher, students age 5 through 14 can visit participating Kidd Valley or Ivar's locations or nominate online at Ivars.com/teacher or KiddValley.com/calendar by May 19.
