New playground alert: Wallingford Play Area reopens this summer
June 24 update from Seattle Parks & Rec: "Wood fiber surfacing delivery has delayed the opening. The delivery and installation are scheduled for Saturday, June 29. The play area will be open on July 4, 2019. Seattle Parks and Recreation apologizes for the delay and are working get it open as soon as possible. Final design adjustments, severe winter weather, and contractor availability slowed construction."
The Wallingford Play Area is back in action after a total overhaul, and it’s ready for summer fun.
The new playground has all the classics: monkey bars, fire pole and sandbox. New bells and whistles include musical equipment and a multi-rider Oodle swing! Anticipated opening is now July 4.
The wading pool at Wallingford Playfield opens for the summer on June 28th. Open noon to 7 p.m. Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, June 24 to Aug. 16
Much like the park that holds it, this small wading pool is popular!
