Podcasts for Parents: Stories Alive and My Trans Daughter

This week: stories for kids by kids and a mother discusses raising her transgender child.

Happy November, everyone. Shorter days mean more time to cuddle up and listen to podcasts! Here are this week's recommendations — as always, one for kids and one for parents.

FOR KIDS (all ages)
Stories Alive: Robo Trobo and the Talking Toilet (17 min)

Stories Alive is a new podcast that features original stories written by elementary school kids that are then professionally transformed into high-quality audio-theater. I particularly enjoyed the second story, Sadie's Inner Magic, about a young girl using her special magic as she enters a new school.

FOR PARENTS
How to Be a Girl: Mama, I'm a Girl (7 min)

"When he was three years old, my son informed me that she was actually my daughter. I'm now the mother of a happy, confident little transgender girl, but it took a while to get here." In How to Be A Girl Seattleite Marlo Mack shares her journey as she and her daughter learn to navigate a world that doesn't quite know what to make of them.

Have you listened to something great lately? I'd love to hear about it. Reach out via the Pastime Facebook page, on Twitter @pastiming or by email, andrew@pastimeapp.com
