Pop-Up Report: CoffeeWaffleShop at Mae James Coffee

Don’t forget to loosen that belt buckle a notch or two before bringing your big appetite and kids to Mae James Coffee’s monthly CoffeeWaffleShop in South Park. The brunch pop-up takes place on most first Saturdays of the month from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Burdick Brewery. Mae James and Burdick owner Jessie Blount welcomes families at the carb-heavy event, where kids can stuff their faces with waffles topped with Nutella, bananas and homemade marshmallows. Syrup made with the craft brewery’s stout — and ice cream scoops of butter — were served atop waffles at February’s event.

Mae James’ single origin, small-batch coffee is brewed and sold by the pound at the pop-up; the rest of the month, you’ll have to order it online or stop by the company’s roasting facility. Check the roaster’s Facebook page for details on the next family-friendly event. maejamescoffee.com
