Seattle Public Schools Seeks Nominations for Positive Climate and Discipline Advisory Committee




Seattle Public Schools is seeking nominations for its Positive Climate and Discipline Advisory Committee to the Superintendent. The committee advises the Superintendent specifically on matters related to positive school climate and student discipline at SPS. To be considered, applicants should complete and submit a nomination form by Friday, Nov. 1.

The committee has 24 members and includes parents, family and community members who reflect the diversity of Seattle Public Schools students – General Education, Special Education, Advanced Learning, English Language Learners (ELL), and Alternative Learning. In addition to regular voting members, the committee also contains a number of non-voting technical expertise members.

Terms of service run for two years, from October 2013 through September 2015. The committee's work involves one to two meetings a month with periodic reports to the Superintendent.
