The Woodland Park Zoo is helping their gorilla Nadiri's newborn baby adjust to life in the zoo. Attempts to introduce Nadiri to her baby continue, and staff are maintaining the baby gorilla in the gorilla sleeping quarters where Nadiri and her two gorilla group members can see the baby while the baby is exposed to the "sights, sounds and smells of gorillas," says WPZ.

Nadiri's baby was born on Friday, Nov. 20, and is thriving despite initial issues wherein Nadiri did not show the maternal bonding behaviors common to gorillas.

Check out WPZ's blog (bit.ly/babygorillaupdate) for updates on the baby's progress.
