Tanya and Crystal Palmer
Being a foster parent isn’t easy. The challenges include; taking on kids with very little notice, sometimes in the middle of the night. Helping children adjust to a new home and new family knowing this could be temporary. It requires creating an incredibly consistent, structured, and loving environment for these new kids, sometimes babies, who enter your home. On the other hand, these challenges can come with great reward and happiness.
Tanya and Crystal Palmer of Spokane Valley are a couple who could talk to you about these challenges and rewards. You see, Tanya and Crystal have been through all this. What started as fostering, turned into legally adopting five beautiful children, four of whom are biological siblings that they just couldn’t bear to separate. Tanya and Crystal have had their share of stress and heartache along this journey while fighting for these children, but their unrelenting love and perseverance didn’t waiver. Because of this, these children are now in a devoted, stable home.
Tanya and Crystal are both educators and coaches in the West Valley School district where they reside with all five kids. Every day they model acceptance, compassion, and kindness not only to their five children, but also to their students, athletes and colleagues. They are a true example of an Unsung Hero.
