Scotch and beer mix in Seattle spring festival

Hop on down to Fremont for the Hops Scotch Spring Beer and Scotch Festival, two days of sampling microbrews, scotch and, this year, tequila.

Tasting sessions and seminars are scheduled 5 p.m. to midnight May 2 and 1 p.m. to midnight May 3 at Jonas Jensen Studios in Fremont, 155 N. 35th St., Seattle.

Admission is $20 in advance or $25 at the door and includes a 6-ounce souvenir cup and six tasting tickets. Designated driver admission is $10. You must be 21 with valid ID to enter.

Additional costs beyond admission:

Scotch tasting, $10: flight of six tastes (each 1/4 ounce).

Scotch tasting seminar with the Master of Scotch, $30: An hourlong seminar with 12 (1/4-ounce) tastes.

Tequila lounge, $15: flight of six tastes.

Additional beer tasting tickets are $1.75.
