Pike Place Market Giving Trees

The Pike Place Market Foundation will host two giving trees starting Friday, Nov. 27. The giving trees are decorated with close to 300 holiday wishes from adults and seniors who reside in the Market's subsidized apartment homes, including low-income families with children, senior citizens and clients of the Downtown Food Bank.

Help brighten the holidays for low-income neighbors while doing your holiday shopping in the Market. The two trees are located in the Economy Building Atrium (entrance on 1st Avenue just south of Pike Street) and in the DownUnder (near Hands of the World). For directions visit www.pikeplacemarket.org.

The foundation also offers a virtual tree. Visit: www.pikeplacemarketfoundation.org, select a gift, and email mktfoundation@pikeplacemarket.org to let them know your choice. Buy, wrap and deliver your gift to one of five convenient drop-off locations in the Market.

Wishes range from simple household items to basic clothing, including:

  • A toaster oven and stainless steel frying pan or soup pot for a senior woman.
  • Fleece jogging pants and jacket for an adult man.
  • Musical instruments and sweater, jeans and underwear for a boy, age 3.

The Market Foundation supports the Pike Market Childcare and Preschool, Pike Market Senior Center, Downtown Food Bank, The Pike Market Medical Clinic, low-income Market and Heritage House at the Market residents. For more information about the annual giving trees or the Market Foundation, visit www.pikeplacemarketfoundation.org.
