All-Star Softball Classic for Homeless Youth
On any given night in King County, as many as 1,000 youth are alone and unaccompanied on the streets. That’s why local and national celebs are taking to Safeco Field for a softball face-off against this issue. All proceeds will create and sustain programs for youth experiencing or at risk of homelessness.
United Way of King County’s All-Star Softball Classic for Homeless Youth will take place on Saturday, June 15, when Dan Wilson, Jay Buhner and Edgar Martinez head back to Safeco Field to battle it out in a friendly match, along with Seattle SuperSonics’ Gary Payton and Detlef Schrempf, Seattle Seahawks’ Golden Tate, Seattle Sounders’ Steve Zakuani and more.
The doors open at 2 p.m.; game time is at 3 p.m. General admission tickets are $10. Thanks to a generous matching donation of $250,000 from the Raikes Foundation, the All-Star Classic aims to raise $500,000.
