EMP Seeks Youth Advisory Board Members to Help Create Teen Programs
EMP seeks new members for the 2012–2013 Youth Advisory Board, which connects teenagers to the Northwest's all-ages arts and music scene by giving them an opportunity to be a driving force in EMP's teen programming. Youth Advisory Board members are invited to create and promote teen programs, work with local musicians and artists, meet other creative types in the community and help out with Sound Off!, EMP's annual battle of the bands.
Youth Advisory Board members have the opportunity to:
- Screen and discuss Sound Off! submissions
- Assist at events such as Bumbershoot, Sound Off! and more
- Develop EMP's youth voice and reach out to other teenagers in the community
- Help showcase EMP programs to the greater Seattle community
- Get an inside peek at museum exhibits and special events
- Write, participate and network in thesoundboard.ning.com, EMP's online community devoted to the Northwest's all-ages music and arts scene
Youth Advisory Board membership requirements:
- Must be high school-aged
- Must complete the application by July 6
- Attend meetings twice a month, Thursday evenings at EMP
- Have a basic knowledge of and enthusiasm for music
- Have a commitment to serving on the board for nine months
