If you’ve brought your kids to a Not-Its! show in the past, you know to expect rockin’ parties that can tire out even the most lively little dancers. Luckily, all of that quirky, irreverent energy carries over on the new CD, KidQuake! The latest release from the beloved Seattle kindie rock band is an infectious listen for kids and parents: Just try playing the title track more than once without singing along.

The band’s fourth CD is the follow-up to their 2011 album Tag, You're It!, and is brimming with colorful, multi-layered tracks. The album’s lyrics cover everything from the lure of skateboarding to losing car keys. You’ll also hear take-home messages throughout, ranging from getting along with classmates (“Operation Cooperation”) to finding time to slow down the pace of always-full family schedules (“Busy”).

The Not-Its! are led by Sarah Shannon, the former vocalist for 90s alt-rock band Velocity Girl. The five-piece band is a part of the local Kindiependent music collective, alongside local bands Recess Monkey, The Harmonica Pocket, and The Board of Education.

KidQuake! will be available on Feb. 5 from various retailers, including Amazon.com and iTunes, and from the Not-Its! website. Click here to watch the new video for the single “Busy.”
