Seattle Times: Bellevue picks schools chief
From our news partners at The Seattle Times: The Bellevue School district selected J. Tim Mills, the head of North Clackamas (Ore.) School District, as its new schools chief. By Brian M. Rosenthal.
J. Tim Mills was selected Tuesday night as the superintendent of the Bellevue School District.
School board members selected Mills, 59, from a trio of finalists after a closed-door meeting followed up by a public vote.
Mills, of the North Clackamas (Ore.) School District, spent most of his career in Arizona and Colorado, where he was superintendent in the Mesa Valley County and Brush Public School Districts. He also had been a finalist for superintendent in Northshore and in Yakima.
"The board felt we had three strong candidates, but it was Dr. Mills who emerged as the clear leader among opinions of both individual board members as well as parents, teachers and staff," said School Board President Paul Mills.
