6 drive-thrus to swing by with a napping kid in your car

Finding healthy, accessible food on the go can be a huge challenge, especially when you’re toting your kid with you. If you’re looking to grab a meal or snack when your kid is napping in the backseat, Seattle has some surprisingly tasty (and easy) options.

Ballard’s biscuit haven Morsel, former site of the Blue Dog Cafe, offers amazing, generously sized biscuits and great espresso. Their drive-thru is conveniently located just off 15th Ave. NW, so you can swing through and pick up a drink and biscuits to go. Their full menu of biscuit sandwiches is only available in the restaurant, although you can take them to go. Their staff is always patient and friendly, which helps to ease those early mornings! The drive-thru is open 7 am to 1 pm Monday through Friday. 5905 15th Ave NW, Seattle, 98107

Jucivana’s delicious smoothies and fresh juices are practically a meal by themselves. If you’re looking for something heartier to enjoy with your smoothie, they’ve got pastries and whole-grain sandwiches to tide you over. The drive-thru is open from 6 am to 6 pm from Monday to Saturday. 10 Boren Ave S, Seattle, 98144

Top Pot Issaquah

Top Pot may be a chain, but their donuts are far from ordinary. With their huge array of flavors (forty in all!), you’ll be able to please even the pickiest eater. Issaquah’s drive-thru location lets you grab coffee and a donut - the best pairing. Open 6 am to 6 pm Monday through Friday, and 7 am to 6 pm weekends. 1235 Maple Street, Issaquah, 98027

60th Street Desserts

Despite their name, 60th Street Desserts offers more than just superb pastries. They serve an array of sweet and savory breakfast foods, including scones, coffee cakes, breakfast burritos, and slices of quiche. Drive-thru is open from 7 am to 1:30 pm tuesday through Friday and 9 am to 1 pm Saturday. 7401 Sand Point Way NE, Seattle, 98115

Kidd Valley

Kidd Valley is known for their burgers and fries, but they’ve got a number of less-greasy menu items for kids that will satisfy you, too. Check out their club and chicken sandwiches as well as the chicken strips and grilled cheese on the kids menu. Open 11am-9pm daily. 14303 Aurora Ave N, Seattle, 98133

Firehouse Coffee

Firehouse’s espresso is really their standout, but their pastry options will impress you as well. Pick up a sandwich, muffin, or scone to pair with your coffee. Open 6 am to 6 pm weekdays and 7 am to 6 pm weekends. 2622 NW Market St, Seattle, 98107
