"Stranger Danger" is no longer recognized as an effective approach in teaching kids about safety. Kids should have stranger smarts (like never get into a stranger's car), but kids need to know that it is OK to ask a parent with kids for help if they are lost or in trouble, even if that person with kids is a stranger.
