Look, in the sky! Hey, those aren’t the Blue Angels

The Royal Air Force's Red Arrows are on a North American tour. See them in Seattle skies on Sept. 23.

These are the Royal Air Force’s 12 Red Arrows. The world-famous UK aerobatic team will by flying their distinctive Hawk T1 jets over Seattle on Monday, Sept. 23, so keep your eyes toward the skies.

 


Red Arrows Inverted

 

The Red Arrows are stopping at the Museum of Flight as part of the team’s first major U.S. and Canada tour in more than a decade. At approximately 11:15 a.m., the 12 Hawk T1 fast-jets will make a formation fly-by over the museum, then head briefly over downtown Seattle and return to land at Boeing Field. Two of the Hawks will taxi directly to the Museum main parking lot and remain there for free public viewings and pilot meet-and-greets from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Red Arrow flight crews will also meet students at nearby Raisbeck Aviation High School.

 

According to the Royal Air Force, the tour provides a chance to celebrate and enhance international trade and investment between the UK, Canada and the U.S. The visit celebrates the UK/U.S. special relationship, the UK’s aerospace and defense partnership with Boeing, and the strength and breadth of the UK’s broader commercial relationship with Washington state.

 

WHEN TO WATCH:

11:15 a.m.: Museum of Flight and downtown Seattle formation flyover and 11:40 a.m. arrival (times subject to change).

11:40 a.m.: Red Arrows arrive at Museum of Flight/Boeing Field

1 to 2:30 p.m.: Free public viewings of the Red Arrows aircraft and a meet-and-greet with the Red Arrows pilots and engineers at The Museum of Flight.
