At Little Green Acres Summer Camp, kids don’t just play —they experience nature, animals, and science through unforgettable, hands-on adventures on our 10-acre farm.
Every week introduces a new theme that comes to life through carefully designed hands-on projects and fun activities rooted in agronomy, ecology, botany, animal husbandry, geology, hydrology, aquatic science, soil science, fire science, or biology. Campers learn through entertaining, real-life discovery – no lessons or lectures, just outdoor fun, exploration and creativity. They’ll build, craft, plant, dig, troubleshoot, snuggle animals, and explore the world around them - while gaining new skills and confidence. They’ll effortlessly absorb science and practical skills while having so much fun they can’t wait to tell you all about it.
Examples of projects and activities:
🐐 Bottle-feed baby goats and lambs
🐓 Collect warm eggs and share nose rubs with alpacas
🌱 Grow plants, build birdhouses, create bee hotels
🔥 Create and cook with rocket stoves and Bunsen burners
🌬️ Make kites and Viking chairs, learn to use a compass
🏕️ Craft whistles, practice outdoor first aid, and so much more!
It all comes together here — our farm’s diverse landscape of wetlands, streams, ponds, fields, hills, forest, and lake aren’t just beautiful — they’re foundational teaching tools. The breadth of our ecosystems provides a unique learning environment for campers to explore real ecological systems firsthand, turning concepts into meaningful experiences.
That connection to nature extends to our animals. Our friendly farm animals aren’t just fun — they’re a key part of the experience. While playing and helping care for them, campers develop empathy, learn about animal behavior, and gain confidence in real-world farm skills. Each day is packed with connection — to animals, to nature, and to new friends.
