Celebrate Neighborhood Toy Store Day by visiting these Seattle-area shops on Nov. 10

UPDATE: Neighborhood Toy Store Day is over, but who needs an excuse to visit a great local toy shop?!

Not that we need an excuse to go shopping — especially to a toystore! — but Saturday, Nov. 10, has been declared Neighborhood Toy Store Day by the American Specialty Toy Retailing Association.

Member stores around the country will offer deals and discounts, in-store events and hands-on experiences with cool toys.  This annual event comes ahead of Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday, all days associated with holiday shopping. In the toy world, the landscape has changed a bit with the departure of bankrupt Toys R Us.

Local retailers are more than happy to fill that void by continuing to offer the high quality selection of the best toys and games, plus the personal shopping experience they have always offered. Their website also includes a great "Top 10 reasons to shop local" list, which could apply to businesses in any number of fields.
