Description
Seattle Parks and Recreation is offering a FREE summer beach shuttle at Discovery Park to help improve access, reduce traffic congestion, and support a thriving environment.
Discovery Park is a spectacular 534-acre park on the shores of Puget Sound in the Magnolia neighborhood of Seattle. As the city's largest public park, it contains 11.81 miles of walking trails, a playground and a long stretch of beach. The walk down to the beach from any of the parking lots can be fun with young kids but the walk back up - entirely uphill - more challenging, so the shuttle provides a great way for families to enjoy the walk down and get a ride back up.
The free shuttle runs Saturdays only through September 7 and loops between Discovery Park Visitor Center, the North Parking Lot, and the Beach.
The shuttle loops between the East, North, and Beach parking lots at Discovery Park, arriving at each location approximately every 30 minutes. It operates on Saturdays only from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with the last trip leaving the beach at 5:15 p.m. Please donate what you can to support the shuttle bus.
Date/Times: May 25 - Sept 7. Saturdays only, 11 am to 5:30 pm.
What is allowed on the shuttle? People, service animals, and strollers are allowed.
What is not allowed on the shuttle? Pets, coolers, surf/paddle boards, and other bulky items.
