Description
play, tell stories, and act them out…together at the Storyacting Summer Program in Puyallup.
As a former kindergarten teacher, Ms. Jubie-Shepard developed a storyacting program inspired by Vivian Gussin Paley, teacher in the University of Chicago Laboratory Schools, author, and recipient of the MacArthur Fellowship Genius Grant. Storyacting is scribing children's stories and acting them out as a community.
Each day begins by exploring fairy tales. Then, while engaged in fantasy play each child will be given an opportunity to tell THEIR OWN story and have it printed by the teacher. They end with gathering in a circle to share stories. Everyone has a chance to be an author, an actor, and an audience member.
