Great Northern Cascades Railway Mini Train Rides

Come up to beautiful, historic Skykomish for a day of affordable family fun. You can hop aboard one of the Great Northern Cascade scale mini trains and enjoy a train ride for the whole family. In fact, you can ride as many times as you like! The drive is beautiful, the trains are amazing, and they have a fantastic museum and gift shop, too, so make a day of it. Skykomish is a little jewel of a town just before Stevens Pass off Highway 2.

The Great Northern and Cascade Railway was started on July 5th 2012. The original 1898 Great Northern Railway depot was moved and restored. The depot serves as our Museum and gift store.

With the exception of 2020 they have given train rides to the public from the first weekend in May until the last weekend in October. This includes holidays. The focus is the history of the Great Northern Railway. Skykomish was a division point on the Cascade division.

Skykomish has a rich railroad history. The Great Northern and Cascade Railway intends to keep this alive.
