Get ready to soar! The Washington State International Kite Festival (WSIKF) is a vibrant, week-long celebration of all things kite, held every year during the third full week of August.

From Monday through Sunday, the skies over Long Beach, Washington burst into color with dazzling displays, graceful choreography, and high-flying excitement. Kites of every shape and size—from giant octopuses and dragons to delicate handmade works of art—fill the air above the Pacific Ocean. This one-of-a-kind event attracts world-renowned kite fliers and tens of thousands of enthusiastic spectators—many of whom join in the fun by launching their own kites into the sky.

WSIKF is a festival for everyone. Families can enjoy children’s activities like kite-making workshops, face painting, and hands-on flying experiences. Food vendors offer coastal favorites and sweet treats, while local shops and artists provide plenty of opportunities for browsing and souvenir hunting.
