Description
The Lunar New Year Fair will be held at the Wing Luke Museum to ring in the Year of the Snake. This will be a day full of festive art activities for the family, community booths, storytime, and more! You will be joined by Mak Fai Kung Fu Dragon and Lion Dance Association for the special Lion Dance celebration with additional outdoor information booths. The morning Lion Dance Celebration is free and open to the public!
Join in the fun indoors at your chosen entry time. Meet local artists and enjoy a lesson in calligraphy and Year of the Snake crafts.
After the lion dance, you can continue the day and go inside the museum at 11 AM. You can get your tickets and meet local artists and enjoy a lesson in calligraphy and Year of the Snake crafts. All Museum galleries will be open to explore along with the KidPlace exhibit, New Year’s All Year Round: Food, Family and Fun! Craft activities and prizes reserved for visitors ages 12 and under.
Schedule:
- 10:00 AM – Lion Dance Celebration and Pre-Check Tent outside of WLM's front door on King St (free to the public)
- 11:00 AM – Your earliest entry time for the museum and fair activities including crafts, special presentations on lion dances and reptiles, a scavenger hunt, and ways to win prizes! See wingluke.org/lny for details.
- 3:00 PM – Activities end
- 5:00 PM – Museum closes
Entry info:
Look for our “PRE-CHECK” sign on a white tent on King St during the Lion Dance. Show your printed or digital tickets to get your wristbands early and skip the line when the doors open. Timed Ticket Admission is also available at the white tent from 9 AM - 11:30 AM. Staff and volunteers will check your wristbands upon entry for access to indoor exhibits and activities.
