Description
See why the shores and waters surrounding our community are internationally recognized as crucial habitats for countless sea, shore, and land birds at the Snow Goose and Birding Festival on Saturday, February 24, 2024.
Tours and guides will help you experience one of Western Washington’s most spectacular natural events – the annual winter gathering of thousands of Snow Geese and Trumpeter Swans. In addition, they have flocks of wintering seabirds and shorebirds, along with many raptors that call Stanwood and Camano Island home.
There will be Speakers, Bus Tours, Art Displays, Vendors, Live birds, and Children's Activities.
Transportation: Snow Goose Shuttle every 45 minutes (included in Entry Fee). The first bus will leave at 9:30 am to go to the Nature Conservancy at Port Susan Bay. The later bus will leave the Floyd by 1:15 pm. More Information HERE.

9 am - 4 pm (first floor of the Floyd): Art, Children's Activities, Information, Displays, & Vendors.
10 am - 2 pm: Live Birds Display Falconers at the Floyd.
Speakers located Upstairs at the Floyd:
9:00 am: The Art of Photographing Birds Karen Ulvestad will teach bird photography techniques through visual examples and lecture.
11:00 am: Eagles from the Park Side Pat Holmes, a local Camano Island resident and storyteller, will share bald eagle facts and stories using photos and videos.
1:00 pm: Washington's White Birds of Winter Martha Jordan, a well-known swan biologist, will present a program regarding the changing landscape that our swans and snow geese face in migration and on their wintering grounds.
3:00 pm: Celebrate the Northwest Owls Sheila Pera, watching birds, protecting habitat, connecting with nature.
