Welcome to SLU’s very own Winter Wonderland! The neighborhood will be full of interactive activations and magical installations all winter long.
Walk around the neighborhood and marvel at the twinkly lights, take your family photos, explore seasonal offerings at your favorite local businesses, stare up at the sky through the magical scenes – there’s something for everyone this winter in South Lake Union.

Winter Wonderland Art Installations
November 21 – January 7, Day 1 Playfield, Nitro Plaza, & Van Vorst Plaza

Day 1nce Upon a Time – 2121 7th Ave
The neighborhood is about to get a whole lot brighter and more magical, thanks to the incredible “Horizon” installations brought to us by Creos. Starting November 21st, SLU will be a destination for all as the crowds draw to explore the interactive art coming to the Day 1 Playfield. Take a seat in these dome-shaped installations and truly immerse yourself in a twinkly night sky, providing the perfect photo opp and moment to escape into a winter wonderland.

Nitro Enchanted Forest – 2250 7th Ave
On your next stop through SLU’s Winter Wonderland, make your way over to the enchanted forest at Nitro Plaza and experience the twinkly lit-up trees. As the sky gets darker, the lights get brighter, and this scene makes for an idyllic stroll for your winter evening.

Winter Chill at Van Vorst – 410 Terry Ave N
Starting December 1st, cozy up next to the (faux) fire at Van Vorst Plaza with your friends. Add checking out this spot to your winter bucket list – you won’t want to miss it!

Denny Park Winter Lights Are Back
December 1 – February 1, Denny Park
Come check out the winter lights all season long in Denny Park, and throughout the South Lake Union neighborhood! Lights will cover the trees and make for stunning winter evening walks from December 1st through February. Looking for a way to ring in the winter festivities? Celebrate the start of the season with The Dickens Carolers on December 6th in Denny Park from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm.

Food Truck Rodeo & Live Music
December 6 & 13, Denny Park
Looking for something fun to do on your Wednesday lunch break? Denny Park will be alive with music and a Food Truck Rodeo on December 6th and 13th from 11 am to 2 pm. You’ll find a wide-variety of food trucks with delicious, freshly made creations, as well as live performers to accompany your lunch experience! Come stop by with your friends, family, or coworkers both days for the perfect complement to your day in SLU.

Winter Market
December 7-8, Van Vorst Plaza
In partnership with Urban Craft Uprising, the annual Winter Market is returning to Van Vorst Plaza on December 7th and 8th from 10 am to 5 pm. Walk through and check out the local vendors each day to find holiday goodies and homemade creations. Grab a warm lunch or some fresh produce to take home as ingredients for your holiday meals. Santa Paws Outdoor Movie
December 16, Denny Park
Looking for a family-friendly event to kick off winter break? The adorable holiday movie, Santa Paws, will be showing at Denny Park on Saturday, December 16, from 12 pm to 2 pm. Bring your kids and pups because this event is free and open to all, just make sure to bundle up and bring chairs! Free hot chocolate will be offered to help keep you warm. See you there!
