Description
Be inspired, find your voice in STEM and learn about careers in aviation and aerospace. During this one day event, hear from inspirational women, get hands-on with fun, interactive activities and attend a ”Fly Fair” with local and regional clubs, schools, aerospace industry reps and more.
Keynote Speaker: Sarah Knights is the Director of the New Shepard Astronaut Office at Blue Origin. She has trained every astronaut crew that has flown on New Shepard as a CrewMember 7, which is currently 7% of all astronauts and 12% of all women that have ever flown to space. As lifelong teacher she has taught more than 70,000 people of all ages STEM topics and joined Blue Origin in 2016. She holds Bachelor's degrees in physics and astronomy from the University of Hawaii, Hilo, and has spent her life interpreting technical subjects and translating them for people in understandable ways. Prior to her career in STEM education, she worked at Gemini Observatory and Keck Observatory on Mauna Kea.
