It’s fair time! King County, Evergreen State and Puyallup are on for summer and fall 2024

The three big fairs in Washington to enjoy with your family!

With many full-on fairs happening every summer and fall around the state, you donā€™t have to travel far to join in the fun. Just go online to the Washington State Fairs Association and find one convenient to your location or schedule.

For those of us in the Puget Sound region, three stand out as the biggest and best of all the livestock loveā€™n, elephant ear eatā€™n, giant squash measuring bunch: King County Fair in Enumclaw, Evergreen State Fair in Monroe and Washington State Fair in Puyallup.

Summer 2024

King County Fair, Enumclaw

July 11-14

Round up your little ones, grab the sunscreen, and get ready for a day of entertainment, contests, fair foods, and animals at the King County Fair, which has the honor of being the oldest fair west of the Mississippi River! Whatā€™s on the docket for 2024? This yearā€™s event will feature a rough stock rodeo (costs extra) and rodeo clown bullfighting, music stages, farm animals galore, roaming characters, and barrel racing and much more. Donā€™t miss: The Pirates of the Plateau and Reptile Isle.

Summer to Fall 2024

Evergreen State Fair, Monroe

August 22-27, August 29-Sept 2

This year’s 2024 fair theme is “Bright Lights, Summer Nights,” which embodies everything that makes summer one of the best times of the year. The color palette is all about bright neon in contrast with a darker hue of blue and black.

Chock full of entertainment, music and a whole host of food, agriculture and craft competitions, thereā€™s something for everyone at this timeless Monroe event. The Evergreen State Fair has received accolades for its Morning of Dreams event, a special morning fair session for children and adults with disabilities or special needs (Tuesday, August 27, 2024: 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.). Be sure to check back for more information closer to the event.

Summer to Fall 2024

Washington State Fair (Aka “The Puyallup”)

August 30-September 22

As the finale of summer and the start of fall, “the Puyallup” is the largest single-attraction event held annually in the state of Washington and one of the largest fairs in the world. Did you know it takes 1,900 people to put on a fair this size? Gates open August 30, and the fair runs through September 22 (but not every single day; CLOSED September 3, 4, 10, 17). There will be many new and familiar big-fair attractions: carnival rides, animals, agriculture competitions, food, crafts, and a whole lot of kid-oriented fun.
