Bold questions and messy experiments are welcome! University Cooperative School is an independent elementary school in NE Seattle where childhood is a journey of discovery. Serving PK-5 students, UCS helps children become confident learners, thoughtful community members, and adventurous problem-solvers through an inquiry-based, nature-connected, arts-rich education.
Every day, UCS students ask big questions, explore new ideas, take meaningful risks, and discover what they’re capable of. Our teachers nurture each child’s unique strengths while helping them build the resilience, empathy, and creativity needed to thrive in school and beyond.
