Additional information

The Bear Creek School stands at the intersection of tradition and transformation, offering an innovative Christian liberal arts education that prepares each student to become the individuals God intends. Serving students from preschool through grade 12, Bear Creek equips young minds with the tools to think critically and creatively in a rapidly changing world.

Our journey begins in Bear Creek Preschool, where students in P3 (preschool), P4, and P5 (prekindergarten) experience individualized, accelerated learning in math, reading, and writing. Within a nurturing and safe environment, our teachers inspire discovery, foster a love of learning, and cultivate a community rooted in character and kindness.

In the Lower School, the excitement of learning continues to grow. These foundational years are filled with energy and curiosity as students build the skills and habits that support lifelong learning. Our curriculum is grounded in proven brain-based and educational research, and we are continually amazed by what our students achieve. We thoughtfully select curriculum for each grade and subject area to ensure it is both challenging and engaging. As part of our commitment to excellence, we regularly evaluate and refine our curriculum, incorporating new tools and methodologies that strengthen our program year after year—an approach that has enriched our academic offerings for over 35 years.

As students enter Middle School, we recognize the unique developmental needs of this age group. Students in grades 5–8 are curious, open, adventurous, and often unpredictable. To support them, our Middle School program is intentionally designed to be predictable, supportive, fun, challenging, and caring. We tailor daily and weekly schedules, curriculum, teaching strategies, and student life programs to meet the distinct needs of students in grades 5–6 and 7–8.

Our Middle School curriculum follows a carefully structured, classical Christian course of study that emphasizes the intentionality and logic of learning. Core subjects include Christian studies, English, fine arts, history, Latin, math, physical education, and science. In grade 7, students begin formal instruction in logic alongside Latin. The curriculum is further enriched with electives—students in grades 7 and 8 may take up to two semester-long electives each year, while students in grades 5 and 6 explore seven or eight specialist classes. Every subject is taught from a Christian worldview, and our faculty collaborate to create meaningful cross-disciplinary connections that deepen understanding and engagement.

In the Upper School, students engage in a rigorous college preparatory program rooted in the classical Christian tradition. Our liberal arts curriculum encourages students to make critical connections across disciplines, fostering both breadth and depth of knowledge. A strong foundation in mathematics and the sciences ensures students are well-prepared for advanced study. Intellectual challenge, the integration of faith in thought and practice, and collaborative discovery are highly valued by both students and faculty, creating a vibrant academic community.
