Tucked in an old farmhouse and surrounded by a 68-acre forest, Nature Vision Preschool blends the best parts of traditional preschool with the forest preschool model. Located in the beautiful Farrel-McWhirter Farm Park in Redmond, Nature Vision Preschool is the perfect place for students to grow and learn.

You might find our students counting the salmonberries to see if there are enough to eat yet, or watching a woodpecker carve out their home. Weāll stop and observe the deer as they trot through forest and squeal in excitement at the first mushrooms that pop up in the fall! On sunny days weāll take our snack for a hike and find the perfect spot to settle in for a nice story. On rainy days, we toss on our rain gear and go searching for puddles and animals that only come out in the rain.
While most of our outdoor play takes place in our forest, Nature Vision Preschool is fortunate to be a part of the farm community at the park. Our students learn about lifecycles up close by meeting the farm animals with the farmers. We see how the garden changes with the seasons as we harvest in the fall, put it to bed in the winter, and start seeds and plant in the spring.

Our teaching is grounded in the philosophies of play-based learning with an emergent curriculum. We follow the natural cycles of change in our forests, stream, and meadows as we weave in academic themes of math, language, science, art, music and movement, and environmental education. Our students become active participants in their own learning as they gain independence, self-esteem, and become fully prepared for any program they move on to after Nature Vision Preschool.
