Bullying Prevention Workshop for Young People on Friday

Do you have a child who has been bullied or who bullies? On Friday, June 28, from 2 to 4 p.m. local expert Paul Figueroa will be conducting a Positive Choices with Bullies Workshop for young people ages 7 to 11.

The workshop uses fun and games to teach youth how to stop harmful habits – for the bullied, how to stand up and say "no" to negative behavior; for the bully, ways of releasing anger in a positive way. Parents can stay through the workshop, which takes place at the Tutoring Club, located at 14410 S.E. Petrovitsky Road in Renton. Tuition for the workshop is $40 and pre-registration is required by calling 206-650-5364.

Figueroa, of Peace Enforcement LLC and The Village Project in Seattle, has been helping people deal with anger, conflict and violence for close to 25 years. For more than 15 years, he worked as a police officer. In 1997, he developed the Peace Enforcement concepts out of his work with street gangs. Today, he trains teachers, counselors, parents, mental health professionals and recreation staff to implement his programs and has become an international speaker.
