Celebrating 60 years of educational excellence, Bellevue Montessori School is proud to be an American Montessori Society–accredited school serving children ages 18 months through 12 years. As one of the region’s longest-standing Montessori programs, our school is rooted in a deep respect for each child’s individuality and potential.
At Bellevue Montessori, children thrive in an environment designed to spark curiosity, build confidence, and foster independence. In Montessori education, there is no “one size fits all.” Lessons are presented one-on-one or in small groups, allowing each child to progress at their own pace while being challenged at just the right level. Mixed-age classrooms encourage mentorship, collaboration, and leadership, while a focus on independence helps children learn from their mistakes without fear. The result is a joyful, supportive community where students feel empowered to take ownership of their learning.

Our four program levels—Toddler, Primary, Lower Elementary, and Upper Elementary—are carefully designed to build on one another, guiding children through each stage of development.
- Toddlers thrive in a dedicated space with nurturing staff who encourage exploration and independence. Oral language is woven throughout the day, helping children build a strong foundation for communication and confidence.
- Primary students expand on these skills with hands-on activities that foster problem-solving, reading, writing, and mathematical thinking. As they explore cultural topics in geography, botany, zoology, and the sciences, they begin to apply their literacy and math skills in meaningful ways. Conflict resolution and collaboration are central, with older students modeling positive social interactions for their younger peers.
- Lower Elementary builds on this foundation by meeting children’s growing social needs. Collaboration and group work are encouraged, as students begin to investigate broader academic subjects and deepen their understanding of the world.
- Upper Elementary continues this journey, empowering students to take greater responsibility for their work while developing leadership, independence, and critical-thinking skills.

Beyond the Montessori curriculum, Elementary students also benefit from specialist classes in drama, music, science, Mandarin, physical education, and art. These experiences inspire creativity, broaden cultural awareness, and nurture well-rounded learners.
Families choose Bellevue Montessori for its warm, welcoming community, highly trained educators, and commitment to preparing children not only for academic success, but also for a lifetime of curiosity, empathy, and joy in learning. For six decades, our school has been dedicated to supporting the whole child—mind, body, and spirit—and we look forward to continuing this tradition for generations to come.
