Home of the BrainDance, the Creative Dance Center nurtures creativity and learning through joyful dance experiences. Using innovative teaching methods to unite body and mind, we provide an environment where people of all ages communicate, collaborate, and create using the art form of dance.
We believe dance should be fun! Our atmosphere is warm, friendly, and supportive, encouraging laughter, curiosity, imagination, and play. We are a diverse community – we welcome all ages, sizes, personal and cultural identities, backgrounds, and abilities. Working together we build connections through dance. We inspire each other to grow in a space where movement is meaningful and a dancer’s whole self is honored.
Year-round classes include Nurturing Baby, Caregiver/Toddler, Caregiver/Child, Caregiver/Toddler/Child, Creative Dance, Dance & Art, Ballet, Modern, Hip Hop, and Adaptive BrainDance. There are classes for the whole family – early childhood, elementary ages, middle school, high school, and adults. Adaptive BrainDance, for ages 13+, welcomes all abilities/disabilities and is offered to students and families at no cost. This free class welcomes family, friends, or staff to assist when support may be needed.
CDC also offers birthday parties, field trips, a full Summer program of classes and camps, and is the home of Kaleidoscope, our resident youth dance company. A Seattle arts institution since 1981, the Creative Dance Center is where dance and brain development play together!
