Discover Schwartz Early Childhood School
At the Schwartz Early Childhood School, children ages 3 months through Kindergarten learn, play, explore and grow in a warm, welcoming community. For more than 50 years, families have trusted Schwartz ECS to nurture joy, empathy, curiosity and a lifelong love of learning.

A Place Where Childhood Is Full of Possibility
Children are encouraged to imagine, create, move and discover throughout their day. From engaging classrooms and hands-on projects to our expansive outdoor playground and indoor pool, children have
space to follow their interests, build friendships, try new things and experience the joy of being a kid.

Learning Through Exploration and Play
Guided by an innovative child-centered, inquiry-based learning philosophy, our teachers create meaningful learning experiences around children’s natural curiosity. Children explore science, math, literacy, art, language and the world around them through projects, conversation, creativity and play.
Along the way, they develop the academic, social-emotional and problem-solving skills that help them become confident, intentional learners and caring community
Programs for Every Stage
Age-based classrooms — Infant through Kindergarten programs designed to support exploration, independence and growth
Creative Beginnings — A parent/caregiver program for young children that introduces art, music, stories, play and community
Hebrew/English Bilingual Classrooms — Language, culture and learning woven naturally into the classroom experience

More Ways to Explore
Learning extends well beyond the classroom. Children enjoy outdoor play, swimming, music, movement, our Little Gym and climbing wall, enrichment opportunities, holiday celebrations and other experiences
designed to encourage creativity, confidence and connection. Small class sizes and low child-to-teacher ratios give teachers the opportunity to know each child and support their individual interests and development.
Rooted in Values, Open to All
Jewish values, including joy, community, learning, and empathy, are woven throughout the Schwartz ECS experience. Families of all backgrounds are welcome, and you do not need to be Jewish to attend.

A Community for the Whole Family
When your child joins Schwartz ECS, your family becomes part of the larger Stroum Jewish Community Center community. Families receive a complimentary SJCC membership and access to Mercer Island’s largest fitness center, along with member pricing on swim lessons, youth sports, enrichment programs, Summer J Camp, holiday celebrations and more.
